LANSING — A person shot and killed a canine in north Lansing on Wednesday evening after the canine broke away from the place it was leashed on a neighbor’s property and attacked him, police mentioned.
The incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. within the 1000 block of North Cedar Street, Lansing Police Public Information Director Jordan Gulkis mentioned.

The man was bitten by the canine and apparrently shot it in self-defense, Gulkis mentioned. The severity of his accidents was unclear.
Ingham County Animal Control was investigating the incident, she mentioned.
