A spaniel needed to be rescued after spending an evening down a 3m (10ft) gap.
Benni turned caught after slipping by way of a 30cm (11in) hole within the floor.
The gap was so small that cave rescuers had to make use of chisels and drills to achieve him.
But after a four-hour operation, Benni was efficiently introduced again to the floor – the place he was stated to be “ecstatic”.
South and Mid Wales Cave Rescue stated that after an evening underground in near-freezing temperatures, Benni confronted additional bother – he desperately wanted a shower.
Rescuer Dan Thorne stated: “Benni was chilly and drained however when he bought out he forgot all about that, he was ecstatic.
“He wrapped up in a blanket, had some water and he was completely joyful.”
The alarm was raised on Friday night and the restoration started at 05:00 GMT, when the cave rescue workforce had been requested to go to Nant-y-moel, in Bridgend county, by firefighters.
