A canine is believed to have brought about a hearth in a North Yorkshire village home.
Two fireplace crews had been referred to as to the incident at Thirlby close to Thirsk at 4pm final evening (Monday).
They had been responding to studies of a hob on fireplace.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson mentioned: “The fireplace concerned a canine lead which had been left on the hob and it’s thought the canine had unintentionally switched the hob on.
“This then unfold to the kettle and extractor fan.
“The fire was out upon our arrival and the crew inspected and ventilated the premises. The fire caused only minimal damage to items mentioned and the crew used a thermal imaging camera and positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate.”
