CAMPTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Wolfe County Search and Rescue group was contacted us to a path in Campton for a reported dog in distress Sunday afternoon.
According to a social networks post, the team reacted to Turtle Back Arch off Rock Ridge Road.
Officials said the dog was not able to walk and had swelling on its back legs.
The dog’s owner brought the canine on their back for almost one mile.
The rescue group had the ability to satisfy the owner and administer Benadryl to the dog.
Officials said the dog was bitten 5 times by a copperhead snake on both back quarters.
“We desire ‘Sasha’ a quick healing and applaud the owners for working so difficult to get her out rapidly,” rescuers said in the social networks post.
