ARVIN, Calif. (KERO) — They state that dogs are human beings’ friends, and now, one officer with the Arvin Police Department has actually shown that relationship goes both methods.
Bodycam video from Officer Adam Calderon programs Calderon reacting to the call where a mobile home was completely swallowed up in flames. The property owners informed Calderon that their dog was chained up in their yard.
Calderon went through an adjacent lawn and hopped a fence to get to the dog. Flames and smoke bore down on the officer as he dealt with the chain. Calderon purchased himself and the frightened dog a long time by putting a cement block in between them and the fast-moving fire.
According to a news release from the Arvin Police, through a mix of some neighboring hedge trimmers and large force of will, Officer Calderon broke the dog’s chains and brought him to safety.
Arvin Police Interim Chief Alex Ghazalpour applauded Calderon in their news release on the event.
“He never ever thought of quiting and plainly saved that dog’s life,” Ghazalpour specified.
