COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) —
An Ohio fireplace division is reporting the deaths of dozens of dogs after what they describe as a “puppy mill” went up in flames on Wednesday.
The fireplace was at a building on Chesterville-Shelby Road, the Jonesville Fire Department stated.
Chief Harlan Barrick tells WSYX that the hearth took 40 minutes to manage, and through that point one puppy was rescued by firefighters. Around 17 different dogs had been freed by the proprietor from the burning building earlier than firefighters arrived.

Unfortunately, officers report that round 70 dogs died because of the hearth.
Officials consider the hearth by some means began from the wood-burning range in the course of the building.
The property proprietor informed the division that that they had “placed wooden within the wood-burning range used to warmth the building” earlier than the hearth had began.
