EVERETT — For Cindi Morrison, it’s a method to continue her child’s objectives.

She will have a Youngest Old Cat Lady cubicle at next weekend’s Sea-Meow Convention in Seattle in honor of her child, Ashley Morrison, who passed away April 6.

Ashley, 31, formed a neighborhood of numerous countless fans on her @youngestoldcatlady social networks platform about cats and mental disorder.

She established the not-for-profit Ashley’s Kitten Academy to economically help others to foster felines and the trap-neuter-release of feral cats. She spoke at cat conventions about her battles with psychological health and how cultivating assisted her through it.

Since her death, there has actually been a profusion of assistance from individuals in your area and worldwide, sharing how Ashley affected their lives.

Key chains, sticker labels, magnets and other Ashley “cat lady” product will be available at the Seattle cat convention, which is back this year after a three-year pandemic break.

“We will be honoring Ashley’s life and also selling her products to raise funds for Ashley’s Kitten Academy,” Morrison said. “It makes me feel like I am still working alongside her. Like she is still here.”

The cat con is Aug. 12 and 13 at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. It’s a weekend of all things cats. And you can bring your cat.

Cats should be inside a provider, animal knapsack, animal stroller, or using a harness and leash. Kids can stroll totally free.

Activities consist of cat cosplay, cat bingo, kitten snuggle cubicle, cat face painting and cat henna.

There will even be a cat calling contest.

Featured acts are by artist Moshow, a cat rap artist, and “Cool Cats in Town,” a dance efficiency.

Over 80 suppliers will offer cat-related items such as clothing, toys, devices and food.

Admission to the cat convention is totally free to ages 5 and younger. Ticket purchasers can direct 20% of sale profits to Ashley’s Kitten Academy or another organization.
