Branford Compassion Club (BCC) will hold a Wishes for Whiskers Kitten Shower Friday, Aug. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Joseph Trapasso Community House, 46 Church Street, to help refill its food and supply coffers after a record kitten season which is still completely equipment with 70 kittens in foster care at numerous member’s houses.
The feline rescue and adoption organization, based at 2037 Foxon Road, North Branford, prepares an enjoyable night with food, beverages, raffle baskets and video games for any ages. The “cost” of admission is a present of food materials, financial contributions or present cards. “Every spring we send out a kitten appeal to our donors, and this year we decided to add a kitten shower to the calendar,” said Peg Johnson, the occasion chairperson and previous BCC president.
“It’s basically a food and supply drive, but we’ve added the fun of games, raffles and refreshments. It’s also an affordable event for those of our followers who want to give and participate but can’t always afford to attend our major fundraisers,” she included.
It’s the very first Kitten Shower because 2011, when BCC, which just recently commemorated its 25th anniversary, opened its shelter, though that was integrated with an adoption occasion. While there will be no adoptions here, visitors will get to fulfill a set of kittens agent of the almost 70 mothers and kittens that have actually remained in foster care with BCC volunteers preparing them for adoption into permanently houses.

Interested future kitten or cat owners must submit an adoption application on the BCC website at branfordcompassionclub.org. An adoption therapist will get in touch with potential adopters upon evaluation of the application.
