The Critteraid Animal Sanctuary in Summerland has a cat up for adoption that they think is being missed out on by prospective households due to her condition.
Jett is a girl that does have feline leukemia, which does not stop her from being lively, caring and a terrific buddy.
“The world has actually not constantly respected cats. And cats, specifically those with feline leukemia are an extremely sad example of this. As an outcome of lots of misconceptions and misunderstandings, they deal with lower adoption rates,” Lori Huot-Stewart, president of Critteraid, said.
“Fortunately, embracing a feline leukemia cat is extremely safe, and a gratifying experience.”
While the illness is infectious among other cats and does compromise their resistance, people and other animals cannot contract feline leukemia.
“A little love goes a long method for those who are kept inside your home, receive consistent and constant treatment and consume dietary diet plans will live a long and satisfying life,” Huot-Stewart included.
“Jett is going to become part of our irreversible foster program. And what that suggests is Critteraid will be accountable for the life and all of her medical expenses. And if they require specialized foods, we will offer support for that also.”
