A Nottinghamshire family pet owner couldn’t have actually been more shocked after her cat was discovered 3 years after going missing out on. The Tollerton local, who was next to herself, wept when getting the news that her cat, 15-year-old Dino, lived.
It was back in April 2020, when Dino was last seen. His owner, Emma Cowland was persuaded she would never ever see her cherished family pet once again however Dino was out “partying in West Bridgford ”, Emma joked and is now home, protected.
It was 85-year-old Angela Newsham who discovered Dino. Angela, who is now retired said: “Around two weeks ago, I found him around the corner from where I live. I haven’t got a cat anymore and from what I could see, the cat didn’t look good and we had dreadful weather.”

Angela continued: “Someone had left food out for the cat but I was still really worried and bought it back to my flat. The cat is tiny and I thought it wasn’t going to survive all the storms.”
Angela called a regional cattery who took control of some materials for Dino. The Millwood Cattery Rescue in West Bridgford likewise scanned Dino as he was microchipped.
Angela included: “When I found out Dino was from Tollerton, I couldn’t believe it, it’s a bit of a mystery where he’s been for all this time. He [Dino] was lovely, he just slept and slept behind my sofa, he was exhausted and when his owners were contacted with the news, they were around within 10 minutes.”
Emma Cowland and her family in Tollerton remained in shock at the news. Dino had actually been scanned, as Emma’s other cat – his younger sis, Lola.
Emma said: “Dino went missing in lockdown so we searched for him but couldn’t do much more at the time and he’s reappeared! In the summer, Dino would go off for three weeks and then come back home and in the winter, he was more homely so it wasn’t unusual for him to go away.”
Emma included: “When we got the call, we were over the moon. My daughter was there at the time and I just cried, I thought he [Dino] was dead.”
Emma’s children likewise believed their cat was dead and have plenty of pleasure now Dino has actually been discovered. Emma’s spouse nevertheless, constantly kept faith.
“At the back of my house, there’s miles of field so for Dino to have been found partying in West Bridgford is quite funny but it’s the most amazing thing. He seems to recognise their house and I’m waiting for him to recognise his blood sister, Lola but we have three cats again now and I can’t believe it.”
Emma included: “The microchip system works so well and now, we can see him right into his old age. Angela was so kind taking Dino in, without her act of kindness, he certainly wouldn’t have been tracked back to us via Ronnie [of The Millwood Cattery Rescue] and her amazing cats rescue home!”
