Owner of cat boarding center understands it is hard to take a trip with cats
A cat hotel south of Smithers is opening its doors to those displaced from the wildfires that are raving throughout the northwest.
Donna Goodenough owns Kalmar Cat Hotel on Quick Station Road, a cats-just boarding center and has space for those who require to leave and can’t take their cats with them.
“I’ve never had to be evacuated,” she said. “But it would be horrible for people to have to leave their pets behind. I just can’t imagine having to do that…. Because you can’t get your cat or something like that. But if you can catch the cat, bring it to me for however long you need. I’ll do that for them.”
She got a mom cat with kittens last night from Houston and somebody from Burns Lake is pertaining to generate her 2 cats quickly.
Goodenough understands it is hard to take a trip with cats due to the fact that many hotels won’t take them. She wishes to relieve some tension for those that need to leave their houses by using a totally free and safe space for their cats. She included that isn’t charging those displaced by wildfires and if they can’t bring food or litter, she can provide that too.
