Six of seven cats that had been dropped off on the Pinellas County SPCA died after deputies say their caregiver shoved the animals into a grimy plastic bin and suitcase.

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Pinellas County Animal Services reported that seven cats had been surrendered on the SPCA, positioned at 9099 a hundred and thirtieth Avenue North in Largo.

Five cats had been in a small plastic bin and two cats had been in a small suitcase, in accordance with investigators.

Detectives say when workers opened the bin and the suitcase, 5 of the cats had been useless and two had been in vital situation. One of the cats was in such unhealthy form, it needed to be euthanized.

According to PCSO, the one surviving cat had an inner temperature of 106 levels Fahrenheit.

Detectives say the cats had been moist to the contact after they had been faraway from the bin and suitcase, and there was urine and feces inside, which signifies that the cats had been alive after they had been placed inside.

Investigators say 37-year-old Ian Bender was taking care of the cats whereas a buddy was away on a business journey.

The cats had been all below the age of 18 months and had been all wholesome and in good situation when Bender started watching them, in accordance with PCSO.

After caring for the cats for roughly per week and a half, detectives say Bender instructed them he was sick of caring for them and started to plan the give up.

Detectives say Bender instructed them that he placed the cats within the bin and the suitcase as a result of he didn’t have another carriers to place them in and dropped them off on the SPCA.
