PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A 4-year-old cat was shot and killed in Armstrong County.

In a release on Tuesday, Humane Animal Allies said the cat, called Linus, was discovered dead “under suspicious scenarios” in a Gilpin Township area after he left his home. A necropsy revealed the cat passed away from injuries arising from a gunshot

“It is prohibited to shoot, drown, toxin or otherwise eliminate dogs and cats, whether they come from you, somebody else, or are unowned. In almost all scenarios euthanasia need to be done by a certified vet,” gentle officer Chris Jirak O’Donnell, who represents Humane Animal Allies and Orphans of the Storm, said in the release.

Authorities are trying to find the individual who shot the cat, and anybody with details can email [email protected] or call 724-954-9515.
