The Sedona International Film Festival reveals acclaimed recording artist Arvel Bird will be performing his ‘Celtic Indian’ show reside on Sunday, Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. He is returning by popular need after an offered out program in July.

Celtic Indian is a reflection of Arvel Bird’s mixed-blood American Indian and Celtic heritages (S. Piaute/Clan Kennedy Scotland). With his violin, fiddle, Native flutes and Irish whistles, Arvel weaves an effective tapestry of music and stories of his initial structures.

Classically trained as a violinist, Arvel’s show, structures and efficiencies are a confluence of designs from Celtic, bluegrass and his initial Native American folk and Celtic rock orchestrations.

As he worked to establish his own music design and build a big following, Arvel went any place the music called him, which led him far from classical and towards Bluegrass, Appalachian, Folk and Celtic.

During his years in the Midwest, Arvel won the Indiana State Fiddle Contest 4 times while still improving a range of efficiency designs.

From 1986 to 2000 Arvel visited with Glen Campbell, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, Ray Price, Louise Mandrell, and Clay Walker.

One of Arvel’s preferred elements of touring is the around the world travel to Scotland, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and in prominent places consisting of the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Royal Albert Hall in London, England, Smithsonian Museums in DC and NY, Hochstein Performance Hall in Rochester, NY and the Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa, FL, simply among others — with symphonies, chamber orchestras, big celebrations and more, logging over 500,000 roadway miles.

A respected songwriter, Arvel launched his 24th and 25th CDs in 2018 contributing to his 2 EPs and 2 DVDs. Of his 25 CD releases 5 have actually made him worldwide music awards. One of his most treasured is for his classical recording, Tribal Music Suite: Journey of a Paiute, a Celtic and Native American concerto for violin and Native American flute, that made him Best Instrumental Album and Best Producer/Engineer, at the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards. Other awards consist of Artist of the Year as voted by peers and fans in addition to many Best Instrumentals.

Once based in Nashville, TN, Arvel is now settled in Cottonwood, still getting in touch with audiences the old-fashioned method — live.
