To be bold, one must be confident and courageous—both traits perfectly align with Zico, the kitten who has recently gone viral on Reddit.
His owner Walter, 32, who uses the name u/Littlewalterblues, has shared the moment when the small feline confidently makes her way past Thor, the German shepherd mix, ultimately finding himself a permanent home.
Walter told Newsweek: “One night, I heard a meowing sound outside in the street. Upon investigation, I found a very young kitten near my gate.” However, Walter’s first attempt to approach the kitten was interrupted by the unexpected appearance of two individuals, prompting a hasty retreat indoors.
Undeterred, fate intervened two days later when Walter’s wife discovered the same kitten inside their car, meowing persistently.

“At that moment, I was certain it was the same kitten from two days before,” Walter recalled. It took four hours of gentle coaxing to persuade the kitten, who weighed 1.7lb, to emerge from his hiding spot beneath the car’s hood.
Walter, from Minas Gerais, Brazil, told Newsweek: “He was very dirty and hungry. I couldn’t understand how he got in and past my two dogs. Then I checked the camera footage, and it was the most heartwarming thing. My dog didn’t do anything when he entered; he just let him pass while Zico confidently meowed his way into his new home.”
From a scrappy street kitten to a cherished member of the family, Zico’s journey symbolizes the transformative power of compassion and the unbreakable bonds that form between unlikely companions.
Walter added: “All of my pets are street discoveries, except for Zico, who decided to move into my home on his own accord.”
Thor, boasts an impressive 30 kg frame, but that didn’t stop Zico, who now rules the roost—judging by the other clip shared. It shows him playfully biting Thor’s ear while making a high-pitched noise. Yet, the dog doesn’t bat an eyelid.
So far, the videos captioned: “Three months ago, this kitten entered my home, boldly walking by my dog. Here they are today,” has racked up 19,400 upvotes.
One comment with 2,300 upvotes says: “That is one mellow dog.”
“Imagine being so tiny and hungry and all alone in the world, and then finding a warm loving home and an amazing big brother with a patience of a saint,” praised another user.
A third commenter said: “It’s a cat. Probably just a couple months old. Walks into a house and goes ‘I live here now. Human, you may stay.'”
