Maya a tortoiseshell cat has been homeless for 10 months at RSPCA Birmingham

Maya a tortoiseshell cat has actually been homeless for 10 months at RSPCA Birmingham

A previous roaming cat rescued by the RSPCA has actually been awaiting almost a year for a brand-new home and continues to hope somebody will pick her for adoption. The roaming was most likely abandoned by her previous owners as she was discovered with a microchip with out of date information.

Beautiful Maya, aged 2, has actually been look after by the group at RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre for the last 10 months. She was with a family for a spell, however sadly wasn’t comfy around their kids.

There has actually not been a single application from anybody wishing to adopt Maya given that. She has a stunning and long Tortoishell or tortie coat. Like calicoes, tortoiseshell cats are almost solely female and when born male, which is unusual, are normally sterilized.

Staff are holding out hope that the ideal home for Maya is simply around the corner, and have actually ended up being extremely keen on her character and peculiarities.

Emma Finnimore, cattery manager said: “As most cat people will know, being a ‘tortie’ gives Maya plenty of character and cat-titude. She has a fantastic personality and loves to explore, but she’s also really affectionate and more than happy to sit on a warm lap and enjoy a good fuss.

“She’s the ideal companion and we just can’t understand why nobody has even sent an application for her – it’s really sad. It’s true that Maya doesn’t enjoy being around children – but there are plenty of adults that don’t either! So we’re staying positive that Maya’s ideal home is out there somewhere.

“Maya came into the charity’s care after she was found as stray by local people who were concerned for her welfare. She was microchipped but the details were out of date, so little is known about Maya’s former life. Maya quickly found a new home with the RSPCA, but unfortunately she was returned because she didn’t like the visiting children in the home. She has been waiting in the cattery ever since, with no offers of a home.”

Emma included: “Maya has a beautiful long coat which needs regular brushing, but this is no problem because she adores the attention. We are looking for Maya to be rehomed to an adult-only home with no visiting children, with an adopter who appreciates a ‘naughty tortie’ and will cherish this precious puss.”

Anyone who can use Maya her suitable home can finish an RSPCA Birmingham Cat/Kitten Perfect Match Form and call the centre on 0300 123 8585.
