It was feared the kittens might have passed away had they fallen from your home in Pinner Road, the RSPCA has actually said.
The animal charity was called after a variety of kittens were found on the roofing system, however when animal rescue officers arrived it appeared the cats had the ability to enter the loft of the property.
The London Fire Brigade offered thermal imaging cams to help trace 3 of the kittens, however the other 2 and their mum were still concealing.
Jade Guthrie, an animal rescue officer, called it a “challenging rescue” and explained her group needed to go back numerous times throughout a week to capture all the kittens and their mom.
“They may have been small, but they were very fast,” she said.
She continued: “We were really worried about them because while mum could get off the roof easily enough, a drop from that height would have been potentially fatal for the kittens.”
After they were all captured, they were moved to the RSPCA Millbrook Animal Centre.
The mum, who has actually been called Flame, is around 18 months old. While the kittens- called Phoenix, Sam, Aiden, Enya and Seraphina – are around 8 weeks old.
Ms Guthrie included: “We think mum brought to life the kittens up on the roofing system. The lady who resided in the flat didn’t understand, she believed the sounds in the loft were most likely rats.
“We inspected the mum for a microchip however she doesn’t have one, and clearly up until now the kittens have actually had extremely little human contact.
“We believe she should’ve had the ability to feed all 5 of them herself for 6 weeks, she is a very mum!
“The rescue was hard work but all five kittens and mum are safe so it was all worth it.”
