Juneau Animal Rescue raises $7,000 for 2-year-old poodle to get specialized cataracts surgical treatment in Palmer

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – George, a two-year-old basic poodle, has a success story to inform.

In April, a regional family brought George to Juneau Animal Rescue (CONTAINER) since he was going blind and overreacting when getting stunned by their children.

George has cataract illness which can be remedied with specialized surgical treatment.

There were 2 issues container dealt with. The closest veterinarian that can do the operation remains in Palmer, and it costs almost $7,000.

A GoFundMe was begun for George by Angela Noon with assistance from container. The money was raised in less than a day. They exceeded their $6,500 objective and received $7,000 in contributions.

“I would adopt George myself if I could! He’s a stunning and sweet boy who is worthy of a caring family. My own home is complete with 2 basic poodles and 4 cats,” Noon composed on GoFundMe. “My objective with this GoFundMe is to get George the treatment he requires and to get him out of the shelter and into his permanently family.”

All funds will go to Juneau Animal Rescue to spend for George’s air travel, surgical treatment, medications, and veterinarian sees. Any extra funds will work to help other animals who require treatment through container’s Second Chance Fund.
