These charming guinea pigs were discovered ‘shaking in fear’ after being abandoned without food and water outside a church in Woodthorpe.
The set were identified by a shocked citizen after being left outside St. Mark’s Church in Longridge Road on June 30.
She took the animals home and fed them prior to getting in touch with the RSPCA.
RSPCA inspector Annette Della-Porter walked around to the lady’s home close to the church to gather the abandoned animals. After they were medical examination RSPCA inspector Pam Bird carried the set to RSPCA Derby and District Branch where they have actually been called Marzipan and Marmite.
RSPCA inspector Bird said: “Fortunately, both guinea pigs remained in good condition and didn’t need veterinary treatment, although they were very anxious and scared and they didn’t appear utilized to human interaction.
