It ends up pancake breakfasts aren’t simply a human thing throughout Stampede.
Sunday, a Calgary family pet pastry shop tossed a Puppy Pancake Breakfast in Bowness to raise funds for an animal rescue and to reveal a little consumer gratitude.
The occasion drew a long lineup of pooches excited to sample the snacks used by BonA-Pet-Treat! Pet Store & Bakery, a made-in-Calgary business that focuses on natural family pet food, supplements, devices and more.
“(We’re) hosting our 10th yearly Puppy Pancake breakfast,” said Emil Chow, the business’s market supervisor.
“We’re supporting Fur-Ever Homes animal charity today.”
Chow said the charity events were introduced back in 2013 following the floods, as a method of thanking the city and the assistance everybody revealed for the neighborhood.
“Now everybody came together and we’re simply raising money and enjoying,” Chow said.
But what remains in those puppy pancakes?
“They’re human-friendly,” Chow said. “We do not include any preservatives, there’s no sugar or salt or anything therein.
“We’re serving totally free puppy pancakes, with some garnishes, raffle rewards and there’s a caricaturist on website.”
The occasion continues up until 2 p.m. Sunday at 5111 Bowness Road N.W.
