Thunderstorms are set to strike Greater Manchester today, with the heaviest of the rain to fall this afternoon.
The Met Office has actually provided a yellow thunderstorm caution for much of the UK today, with the rainy and windy weather condition set to bring interruption throughout parts of the North West. Though our area isn’t covered by the caution, thunderstorms are still anticipated with heavy showers set to fall later on today and this night.
According to the Met Office, a thunderstorm will strike Greater Manchester at around 3pm. Weather maps reveal storm cloud moving progressively over our area this afternoon.

Forecasters anticipate heavy showers will follow the thunder at around 5pm, with more downpour set to fall at around 7pm. Tonight, more heavy rain is forecasted to fall at around 10pm.
