West Midlands Police rescued a closely malnourished canine which was locked in a room while conducting an arrest in Birmingham. Officers went to an handle on Hurlingham Road in Kinstanding on Sunday, April, 7 to detain a person regarding an alleged assault after they found the famished animal coated in faeces.
BirminghamLive reported that officers freed her from the small room and had 5 bowls of water. She was taken into RSPCA’s care, and the police investigation into the assault continues.
The Birmingham Care Priority Team posted on X: “Whilst conducting an arrest try, officers found this stunning lady in a severely malnourished state with no water. Locked in a single room coated in faeces, she drank 5 bowls of water and now we have now seized her for rehoming. Her life begins once more at the moment.”
Police later added: “We recovered a malnourished canine at a property on Hurlingham Road, Birmingham on Sunday, April 7, following a search in reference to an assault reported on 2 March. We referred to as the RSPCA and the canine was taken into care by a rescue officer. Our investigation into the alleged assault is constant.”
