The our bodies of 5 individuals, who drowned in an animal waste slurry collected in a pit in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district, have been recovered hours after the incident, officers mentioned immediately.
The incident took place at Wakdi village in Nevasa tehsil on Tuesday night, and the our bodies of the 5 deceased individuals have been fished out post-midnight by the authorities, they mentioned.
“We have recovered the our bodies of the victims from the animal waste slurry within the biogas pit. The our bodies have been taken out by 12.30 am on Wednesday and despatched to a authorities hospital for autopsy,” Nevasa police station’s inspector Dhananjay Jadhav mentioned.
A cat had fallen into the pit, and one person climbed right down to rescue it however bought caught within the sludge inside, he mentioned.
“To rescue him, 5 others climbed down one after one other and in addition bought caught inside,” Mr Jadhav mentioned.
While 5 individuals died within the incident, one was rescued and is presently present process remedy at a hospital, he added.
