A new child puppy discovered injured within the highway was thought to have been thrown from a shifting automobile.
The terrier puppy named Puzzle was believed to be just a few days old and her eyes have been nonetheless closed.
The puppy, who weighed 83g (2.9oz) had a cleft palate and the RSPCA thinks this was why she was deserted in Surrey final month.
An animal rescuer is now hand-rearing Puzzle, who had a reduce to her head and scuffs on her nostril.
RSPCA Inspector Natalie Kitchin mentioned it was thought Puzzle could have been deserted due to her beginning defect.
She mentioned: “We fear that her owners may have abandoned her instead of seeking veterinary treatment due to the costs associated with any corrective surgery.”
The charity mentioned Puzzle was beginning to heal and getting “stronger and stronger day-after-day”.
The RSPCA desires to listen to from anybody who has details about the puppy, who was present in Burgoyne Road, Sunbury, on 5 March, or the individuals who dumped her.
