March 26 (UPI) — A Florida sheriff’s deputy performed an uncommon animal rescue when a resident found a snake underneath the hood of their automobile.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook put up that Sgt. James Van Pelt responded to a Lehigh Acres home at which a resident reported a “15-20 foot python” was entangled within the engine compartment of their automobile.
Van Pelt, who’s a state-licensed python contractor, arrived on the home to find the snake was a lot smaller than reported, and truly was a purple rat snake.
The snake was “absorbing warmth within the engine bay” when Van Pelt fastidiously eliminated it.
The sheriff’s workplace stated Van Pelt launched the snake into a close-by wooded space.
