No injuries reported among citizens, city says

Five individuals were displaced and 2 animals were discovered dead after a fire at a home in Winnipeg’s William Whyte area on Saturday night.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called about the fire at a two-storey house on Pritchard Avenue, in between MacGregor and Parr streets, quickly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, a City of Winnipeg press release says.

Smoke and flames were originating from the home when teams showed up. They battled the blaze from within your home and had it under control quickly after 8 p.m., the release says.

No injuries were reported as an outcome of the fire, however the city’s animal services company was dispatched after firemens discovered a dead cat and dog within the residence.

The city’s emergency situation social services group set up short-term accomodation for the 5 individuals who were displaced by the fire, according to the release.

No damage price quotes are available for the fire, the city says, and the cause stays under examination.
