Last year, Secret Machines shared a totally revamped digital reissue of their self-titled record, remastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive) and initially launched on October 14, 2008 through TSM Recordings with initial members Brandon Curtis (vocals, bass, secrets) and Josh Garza (drums), with Phil Karnats (guitar). With this release, the record appeared through all DSPS for the extremely very first time. Today the band is sharing their brand-new single “I Think It’s Light Outside.”
Additionally, the band likewise shared a brand-new double EP including a reissue of their Dreaming of Dreaming EP and an EP of brand-new material entitled Day 21. The brand-new release includes their just recently launched songs: “Day 21” (off the latter) and “Dreaming of Dreaming (Mavrogeorgis and Sclavunos version)” (off the previous), which was recorded/engineered by Jim Sclavunos, drummer/percussionist for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
Brandon Curtis of their most recent record:
“Finally getting to share these songs after so many incarnations, after all this time, after so much has happened, has been a wonderful experience. Listening through has been like connecting to a memory that had begun to recede. I think the improvisational nature of the process and the rawness of the performances allow all this feeling and emotion to bubble up through the wash of sounds and pulses. We are extremely proud of the work that went into making this album and are excited to present this track as another preview of the album.”
