Rich and Dorrey Powers revealed through social networks that their 11-year-old dog Penny, who was Spencer’s niece, passed away Saturday after a vet found internal bleeding and growths on her liver and spleen.
According to the Powers, the vet said that surgical treatment would not have actually offered Penny a lot more time.
“The veterinarian said without the surgical treatment she would pass in less than 12 hours. We made the challenging choice to help her pass while she was comfy. We held her, thanked her, and informed her we liked her up until he dying breath,” Rich Powers composed.
Spencer was 13 years of ages and in October was identified with untreatable liver cancer. It was the 2nd time he fought cancer, formerly having a growth eliminated in 2020.
Spencer, who rapidly ended up being an icon for the Marathon, was understood for holding his “Boston Strong” flag on the Marathon path near Ashland State Park.
Penny has actually been on the Marathon path for Spencer for a number of years.
“You are with your soulmate Spencer with your frisbees and ball,” Rich Powers composed. “You are permanently in our hearts.” ,
