Let’s rewind, I’m a worrier. I originate from a very long time of worriers, and regrettably it’s a 24/7 rut in my DNA.

Then I check out a column in the Washington Post in which a sleep physician made an offhand referral to setting up a time every day to stress, and at first, I scoffed too.
Then a couple of nights later on, I was awake and my lizard brain was crawling through the overload of waking concern and I remembered what I check out. I opened my eyes and whispered aloud, stop stressing, you can do that tomorrow, it’s on the schedule.
And it worked.
It worked the next night and the next.
In the beginning, it was simply something I informed myself however I didn’t in fact do. T hen I understood while driving my kids to activities that my mind was stressing once again and not concentrated on them, and out of routine, I stated, “stop it, you can do that later on, it’s on the schedule”
And it worked once again, and once again, and once again, over and over.
Much better sleep, more concentrated waking time with those I enjoy? Yes, please!
So I took out my phone and included it to my day-to-day schedule. Now my lizard brain has a time to crawl through the overload and a time to play, moms and dad, and sleep.
