A 45-year-old lady deals with a jail sentence after suggesting a guilty plea to being in charge of a dog that whipped a three-year-old lady.
Lisa Garner appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court in connection with the attack including a doberman dog which left the victim needing surgical treatment in health center.
The event taken place in the street where the offender lives, Botley Drive, Havant, Hampshire, on August 8.
Laura Jenking-Rees, prosecuting, informed the court: “The kid was strolling along the pavement in Botley Drive, she saw the offender and the grandma stopped to talk to the offender.
” Throughout the course of that, the dog unexpectedly grabbed the kid as the kid ran previous and bit the kid on her side and would not let go.
” It took a variety of individuals, consisting of the offender, to make the dog launch the kid.
” She had deep bite marks and was required to health center and needed to be run on.
” She was extremely deeply impacted by this, as was her household.”
Garner suggested a guilty plea to being in charge of a dog alarmingly out of control and her case was sent out to be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on December 9.
Mrs Jenking-Rees stated the prosecution would be looking for a disqualification order prohibiting Garner from owning pet dogs.
Launching the offender on conditional bail, chairman of the magistrates’ panel Ronald Whitehill stated: “We would like an all alternatives report prior to sentence and since our sentencing powers are not excellent enough, we need to refer it to the crown court.”
He informed Garner: “We are approving you bail on conditions to appear prior to the crown court.
” If you do not return to court at that date and time, you might devote an offense and you might be detained, fined or imprisoned.”
