SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV/Gray News)– A dog being strolled by its owner was struck and killed by a taken automobile over the weekend, according to authorities in North Carolina.
Authorities state everything began when a guy drove his Nissan Altima to an O’Reilly Automobile Components store in Salisbury simply after 6 p.m. Sunday. The guy parked his automobile and left the engine running when he strolled into the store.
Minutes later on, the guy stated he saw another guy driving his automobile out of the parking area. As the victim was strolling back towards his house, he identified the automobile behind a house on a neighboring street, according to authorities.
Authorities stated the victim approached the automobile and attempted to pull the driver out of the front door. That’s when the thought burglar struck the gas to attempt to escape.
2 males were strolling in the location, among whom was strolling his dog. The males got on the front patio of a house to get out of the method, however the dog was struck by the automobile, authorities stated. The automobile then struck the apartment prior to the suspect ranged from the scene, according to an authorities report.
The dog passed away.
A witness informed WBTV that shots were fired, however it’s uncertain by whom. Authorities validated that shell cases were discovered at the scene, however no injuries were reported.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
