One of the best TMs to use against opponents weak to Flying-Type Moves in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is TM164, also known as Brave Bird. As its name suggests, Brave Bird can be learned by a wide variety of winged bird-like creatures, including Altaria, Quaxwell, Talonflame, and many more. In combat, Brave Bird is Super Effective when used on Fighting-, Fighting-, or Bug-type pocket monsters. However, Trainers should Gass using this Move when facing Electric-, Rock-, or Steel-type enemies. TM164 can be found relatively early during one’s playthrough, and once players find it once, they can craft additional copies at a Poké Center’s TM Machine.

Brave Bird TM Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Brave Bird TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can be found in multiple locations across the provinces of Paldea. One particular spot can be found in the mountain range west of Los Platos. Once Trainers have defeated the False Dragon Titan: Tatsugiri and unlocked Climb Mode, players can scale the cliff walls to reach the top of the ridge.

Based on footage by YouTuber Gamer Guides, the TM will be sitting between two hills atop the unnamed mountain range near Los Platos. Trainers will know they are in the right place when they discover a beautiful view of Mesagoza and Los Platos in the valley below. The Brave Bird TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet can also be found in two additional overworld locations, including the watchtower south of Casseroya Lake and by the coast of the North Paldean Sea. However, players only need to discover one if they would like to craft additional TM164s.

Game8 states that Trainers can craft the Brave Bird TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet using the following materials:

  • 12,000 LP
  • Starly Feather ×5
  • Rufflet Feather ×3
  • Rookidee Feather ×3

League Points are a currency that players will earn throughout the course of their playthrough, but the pocket monster Feathers are items that fans must actively collect by catching specific Pokémon. Birds from the Starly evolution family are in almost every province of Paldea except the East Province and Glaseado Mountain. Those in the Rookidee family generally inhabit the areas in the East and South Provinces. Finally, Rufflet is a common spawn like Starly, but Braviary is confined to the areas of North Province around the northern part of The Great Crater.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
