HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch’s Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

Snowflake happens to be a 1-year-old female hamster described by shelter staff as cute, friendly and adorable. She resembles a Syrian hamster and doesn’t mind being held. She loves to dig tunnels in her bedding.

Bastet was first rescued when she was found abandoned outside at 7 months old. She prefers gentle people and enjoys being petted by people she trusts. She would do best in an adult home or a home with older children who can tell when she needs space.

Five-month-old Miles, a Goldendoodle, is quite friendly but still working on his puppy manners. He’s doing well with potty training as long as he’s regularly taken outside. He doesn’t mind be crated either. He’s scared of big dogs right now and will need regular maintenance of his coat.

Ruby was found at 7 months old abandoned and neglected. This sweet girl was too skinny and has recovered beautifully. Despite her circumstances, she’s still very sweet and loving. She can’t wait to cuddle and be loved upon, but needs to feel safe.

Five-month-old Gertie is a Havanese and bulldog mix and needs someone who can dedicate themselves to her puppy training. She’ll cry out if you move too fast with her so she needs some with patience who will love her and work with her.

This 9-year-old Labrador mix named Rosco weighs 62 pounds and can’t wait for someone to take him home. When he gets excited, he walks in a circle and it’s the cutest thing. He hates when people leave him and needs and deserves to be loved.

One-year-old Nutella is a Pointer mix weighing 55 pounds. He is curious and ready to learn doggie manners. He can get nervous and needs someone who will be patient and love on him. He’ll reward you with the cutest doggie smile.

Eleven-year-old Pink is a loving and affectionate girl who loves to cuddle and put her head in your lap. She loves to be spoken to and will wiggle her whole body when you greet her. She does well with other dogs and, due to landlord and insurance breed restrictions, she’ll need her new family to own their own home.

Five-month-old Myrtle is a Havanese-bulldog mix described as playful and vocal. She’s ready to head off to puppy training classes and would do best in an adult home or one with older children who can help with her training.

Two-year-old Joey is a sensitive and sweet Jack Russell terrier who takes a little bit of time to warm up to new people. Once he gets to know you, he loves to be be active with you and go for runs and hikes. He’d do best in an adult home with someone who can show him that he’s safe.

This Whippet mix named Shelly is 1 year old and quite affectionate with those she knows. She’ll follow you around and rub her head on you to gain your attention. She is afraid of new dogs and unsure around children, so she’d do best an adult home or one with older children who can pick up on when she’s nervous.

Three-year-old Max happens to be a hound mix described as sweet, sensitive and curious. He needs someone to speak nicely to him to show that he’s safe. His previous owner has health issues and couldn’t keep him. This trustworthy, potty-trained guy loves toys and to go for rides in cars.
