The raid on Darshan’s farm in Mysore located on T Narasipura Road led to four bar-headed geese being rescued. They were later released into the wild near Hadinaaru village.
The forest department has now asked Darshan to furnish ownership proof of the other animals found at the farm.
According to sources, “The forest department has given a week’s deadline to submit documents about the other birds on his farm. Animals imported from foreign countries can be kept if the person has ownership certificates. The actor now has to produce these in order to avoid issues. A case has already been registered against Darshan, his wife Vijayalakshmi and manager Nagaraj.”

It can be recalled that a harmless video of the actor talking to an RJ about bar-headed geese from Mongolia went viral on social media and alerted officials.
Incidentally, Darshan has been the Karnataka Forest Department brand ambassador for years. In addition, recognising his contribution towards wildlife, the actor was also nominated as a member of the Karnataka State Board for Wildlife in November.
