Here are the top three stories today in Albuquerque:

  1. Albuquerque Police released photos of a robbery suspect and are asking the public to help identify the man who robbed an Albertsonโ€™s, located on Lomas and Juan Tabo on Dec. 8. The suspect handed a customer service clerk a note saying he had a gun and demanded money. Contact Detective M.   2. Yesterday, the trial began for Donald Duquette of Albuquerque, the 2019 Big-I murder suspect facing life in prison. According to police, the murder of Jose Diaz was a meth-fueled crime. Prosecutor Lawrence Hansen told the jury that Duquette shot a 45 caliber handgun at Diazโ€™s pickup truck, and one of the bullets struck Diaz in the head. (KRQE News 13)
  3. According to City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn, in the last couple of months, there has been an influx of exotic animals and illegal pets, including alligators and tigers, into Albuquerque. Albuquerque Police Department Chief Harold Medina said the department is investigating, but it is complicated because those who are importing the animals could have narcotic or cartel ties. (KOB 4)
