Jake “The Snake” Roberts was a prominent figure in WWE’s Golden Era. He had an intense, physiological persona filled with dark charisma. Plus, despite being afraid of snakes, he carried a giant one with him as a part of his gimmick. For a normal person, he sure was one of the intimidating characters in pro wrestling.
Similarly, one time when Rock music icon Johnny Christ interviewed him in November 2019, he felt very intimidated by the WWE Hall of Famer. In a recent interview, he revealed how his first meeting with the pro wrestling legend went.
Johnny Christ had a great time with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts

Speaking at the Busted Open podcast, Johnny Christ revealed he met Jake Roberts in an interview for his Ep 3 Drinks with Johnny podcast in November 2019. They filmed the episode in an intimate setting, which was the WWE legend’s hotel room. He confessed he felt sort of scared while meeting him for the first time.

“He could have eaten me alive. I know he is not in the ring anymore, but it’s different,” he said. He also mentioned, “I mean, it was very intimidating going over [there]. I’m not a very big guy and Jake is a huge guy, so it was very intimidating in person to be. I tried to get to know him right off the bat.”
Though he felt nervous while conversing with him, both of them had a pleasant conversation. He really liked chatting with the WWE personality. In addition, he also mentioned that his producer had a big role in making the meeting happen.
Christ had no hopes of Roberts accepting his podcast guest invite
During the interview, Christ also mentioned that it was actually his producer that arranged the interview for him. His producer was the one who reached out to Jake Roberts and fixed up a date and place for the interview. At first, he was skeptical about whether his producer would be successful in setting up his meeting.

He had just started a new podcast back then. And his producer decided to help him by appointing the 68-year-old legend as the podcast guest. His producer pulled some strings and pulled off the job.
It amazed him to hear the good news, as he never thought that his manager could get Roberts to say yes to his podcast interview.
