Oxford University Tortoise Fair

The Tortoise Fair is one of Oxford University’s most anticipated events.

Several Oxford colleges have their own tortoise pets and this race gives them a chance to battle it out against each other.

The event date back to about forty years ago with many competitors returning each year, with tortoises living between 50 and 100 years!

The race is at Corpus Christi College with doors opening at midday. Tickets are required.

Andrew O’Neill’s Dead Leg Comedy Club

For a night of laughs, head down to the Old Fire Station as cult comedian Andrew O’Neill holds a night of alternative comedy.

Mark Thomas, Bec Hill and Mark Silcox are among the comedians that will perform at Dead Leg Comedy Club.

This is for adults only. The event is on Sunday (May 28) at 7:30pm. Standard tickets cost £15.

It is aimed at ages 4 to 8 but is guaranteed to provide relaxed fun for the whole family.

The show is at Oxford Town Hall on Sun (May 28). Tickets cost £10 for adults and £4 for children.

Bug handling at the Story Museum

The Story Museum has launched a new exhibition this week named Brilli-ANT.

A description on their website reads: “Explore the mini beasts which inspired our new exhibition Brilli-ANT! in this amazing bug handling session with Chris’s Animal Encounters.”

The sessions are being hosted on Saturday (May 27) and Tuesday (May 30). Tickets cost £5.
