Gyll Mauchline of the Three Counties Dog Rescue goes over a volunteer day at the kennels
A couple of days back we invited a group from Compare the Market in Peterborough who had actually offered to spend a day assisting at the kennels.
There are a variety of jobs that we have a hard time to suit our hectic schedule so Dave Pearce and his merry band were extremely welcome and to start with were set to jet cleaning our enclosed paddock and cleaning our big marquee. A great deal of basic cleaning up followed and ended with some gardening work cutting hedges.
The group tucked into the beverages supplied and had the ability to hang around with Dodge, a little French Nulldog and Alfie, a beautiful lurcher.
A basic remark of being worn at the end of the day and returning to work for a rest recommended that it had actually been a hectic however effective day.

On a more mournful note loved ones of our just recently left kennel supervisor Tony collected at the kennels to spread his ashes there. It was a universally accepted view that it was the most suitable location.
Tony had actually invested most of his latter life there caring for the dogs and cats in our care. We made sure that he would enjoy understanding that he might keep a careful eye on the dogs and cats he had actually cared a lot about.
As the event ended with shower in the air we were dealt with to a splendid screen of a brilliant double rainbow. An suitable method to bring things to a close.
