Russell Crowe is grieving the death of his puppy after the dog was fatally struck by a truck precisely 2 years after the star’s dad passed away.

The Oscar-winning star, 58, shared the heartbreaking loss on Twitter Thursday.

Posting an up-close picture of the late puppy, Crowe composed, “This is Louis the Papillion. 16 months old. Tiny, saucy, brave. He won my heart.”

He continued, “Unfortunately today, on the 2nd anniversary of my dad’s death, Louis was struck by a truck.”

Opening up about Louis’ last minutes, Crowe concluded, “We attempted to get him to the veterinarian, however he passed away in my arms while I was informing him just how much we liked him.”

Animal rights organization PETA revealed acknowledgements and responded, “We are heartbroken for you therefore deeply sorry for your loss. Louis will remain in your heart permanently. Sending all of our love, convenience, and strength ❤️”

Two years ago to the date, Crowe was grieving the loss of his fatherJohn Alexander Crowe, who passed away at home in Australia on Mar. 30, 2021.

Russell shared the news on Twitter where he intended to reach all those who liked his cherished dad.

“I got here back in the bush last night. Today, although the sun is shining and the downpour has actually eased off, this date will permanently be tinged with unhappiness. My dear old man, my gorgeous daddy, the most mild of males, has actually died,” Crowe composed in the very first of 3 tweets.

“I’m publishing this since I understand there are individuals all over the world who’s heart he touched and who’s ribs he tickled with his sparkly eyes and his saucy mindset to everybody, and whatever, and this is most likely as effective an approach as any to hand down the news,” he continued.
