Staff at the Needles Landmark tourist attraction have actually provided a plea after a dog was left in a hot car the other day (Friday) whilst its owners took pleasure in a walk on the beach.

The event took place on Friday afternoon and saw the pooch left in the car at the West Wight appeal area in the hot summery conditions.

Instead of taking the dog with them – which is allowed at The Needles – rather the dog was left in the boot of the Volkswagen.

Commercial Manager Brandon Neal discovered the family pet in the family car when he was walking through the parking lot. He then continued to wait at the vehicle up until the owners returned, which took a while, regardless of a number of messages being relayed on the general public address system.

Taking to Twitter after the occasion, Brandon Said:

“Dogs are enabled on the beach and on the boats. Why bring the dog with you simply to leave it in the boot of the car?

“Please don’t leave your dogs in the car”
