A dog appeared like a “stack of rags” after being disregarded for months.

Larry, thought to be a poodle/Maltese type dog, was not able to move easily as his coat had actually ended up being so matted. After being discovered on the streets, the RSPCA actioned in and slashed off more than 1.7kg of fur.

When the 13-year-old dog was discovered, veterinarians said he remained in such a stunning state that it was tough to inform what breed he was. He is now being cared for in at the RSPCA’s Wirral and Chester branch animal home in Wallasey.

Larry was not microchipped and the RSPCA is examining the case. They are interesting anybody who identifies the dog to come forward after he was discovered in Bradfield Road, Crewe, on May 2.

Centre supervisor Kay Hawthorn, who is presently promoting Larry, said: “His change has actually been extraordinary. Under the big matted clumps of fur, a sweet and mild dog has actually emerged who’s been provided a brand-new lease of life.

“He was having a hard time to navigate correctly and it should have been so uneasy for him. Now he’s taking pleasure in running around once again – something he’s most likely not had the ability to provide for a long period of time – and provided his advancing years, he’s remarkably sprightly.
