Huge emergency situation services reaction as female and dog rescued from water in Reddish Vale

Emergency services raced to rescue a lady and her dog from the water at a park in Stockport this afternoon.

Eyewitnesses report seeing authorities, fire truck, and ambulances hurry to the help of the female at River View in Reddish Vale Country Park at around 12:30pm this afternoon (Thursday March 16). The female and dog were rescued and left in the care of ambulance services.



Fire services remained in presence at the park for around 45 minutes, utilizing a brief extension ladder to help the set to safety. Their condition is presently unidentified.

A representative for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 12.30pm this afternoon (Thursday 16th March), 2 fire truck from Stockport main and Offerton station house in addition to the Technical Response Unit and assistance fire truck from Ashton and Water Incident Unit from Eccles were contacted us to reports of an individual in the water on River View, Reddish Vale.

“Crews arrived quickly at scene. Firefighters wearing water gear used a short extension ladder to rescue one woman and a dog from the water. The woman was then left in the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.”

“Firefighters were in attendance for around forty-five minutes.”
