A Howland woman is facing a vicious dog charge after her pet allegedly bit a neighbor.

According to the report, officers were called to the 2100 block of Weir Road around 8:22 a.m. Sunday.

Police spoke with the victim who said she was going to walk her dog on a leash when Coral Warfield’s dog came onto her property and tried to attack her small dog.

The victim said she picked up her pet and began yelling to keep Warfield’s dog from biting her. During the attack, the victim said Warfield’s dog allegedly bit her lower leg.

According to the report, the dog was taken back inside after biting the victim. The neighbor claimed this is an ongoing issue with Warfield.

Police spoke with Winfield who said her dog got sick in the middle of the night and she “threw” her outside around 4 a.m. She did not say if she put the dog on a leash or confined her in any way.

Warfield’s husband told police he heard screaming coming from the neighbor’s yard and he brought their dog back into the house.

The victim was treated for her injuries at the scene and her dog was not injured.

Warfield is scheduled for an arraignment in Warren Municipal Court Thursday morning.
