Harris County house fire: Dog nursed back to life after being rescued from enormous blaze on Bentley Street

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — Dozens of firemens from numerous departments assembled on a huge fire in north Harris County on Thursday night.Westfield Fire Department reacted at about 6:30 p.m. to the home and business behind a high fence on Bentley Street simply west of the Eastex Freeway. Huge black clouds rippled into the air. The preliminary call was for an outdoors fire, however it rapidly infected the mobile home that was on the property.


Resident Allan Rodriguez said he was dealing with headlights with a battery charger close by when something exploded.

“I do not understand what to do. My mind is blank today,” Rodriguez said with a shocked appearance.

He got his young boy out, however his family’s 2 dogs stayed. One emerged simply great, however Petey was not.

“The dog still had a heart beat however was not breathing,” Arthur Ashley, fire captain from Lexington, Kentucky, said.

Rodriguez, who said he dealt with headlights for a living, might just enjoy as whatever burned.

“Petey is going to be okay,” Ashley said.
