An elderly dog was discovered “undernourished” and in “such a poor method” after being abandoned in Dewsbury today.

On Monday, May 15, a member of the general public discovered an 11-year-old Akita dog connected to a park bench in Thornhill Park. After observing the dog for a long time, and understanding nobody was returning for her, they took the dog to a veterinarian, who called the RSPCA.



RSPCA animal rescue officer Becky Goulding, who is checking out the event, said: “This poor lady was microchipped however the information aren’t approximately date, so we’re not able to discover where she originated from. What we do understand from the microchip is that she is 11 years of ages. “Very unfortunately, she remains in a bad method – undernourished and weak.”
