A dog was destroyed by armed authorities after officers reacted to issues for the well-being of a female in Rochdale.
Officers were rushed to Rowland Court last night (Tuesday) over issues for a female in a house. They discovered an ‘aggressive’ man on the scene.
He utilized a ‘unsafe dog’ versus officers prior to it left from the property, authorities said. Armed authorities then reacted and ‘utilized every available method’ to attempt and control the dog.

But due the danger postured to neighbours and residents, it was ‘humanely destroyed’. The dog was a Pitbull-type breed, the Manchester Evening News comprehends.
The man, aged 41, was jailed on the scene for typical attack and battery. He was likewise jailed on suspicion of owning a hazardous dog, authorities said.
He stays in custody where he will be quizzed by investigators. In a declaration, a GMP representative said: “At around 10:55pm on Tuesday 16 May 2023, officers were contacted us to an issue for well-being of a female at a property on Rowland Court in Rochdale.
“Upon going to the scene a 41-year-old male ended up being aggressive with officers and utilized a hazardous dog versus officers going to the event. The dog left the property and armed officers were released to try to manage the dog.
“GMP’s officers evaluated and actioned every available method available to control the dog and bring it to safety. Due to the considerable danger the dog postured to the members of the general public, the dog was humanely destroyed.
“The 41-year-old male was jailed at the scene for typical attack and battery and owning a hazardous dog. He stays in custody for more questioning.”
