A father was left mad with a man who was permitting his dog, who didn’t have a leash on, to stroll around a kids’s play area whilst there were kids present
Everybody understands that when you go to the park, the designated backyard are for kids, and not animals.
Of course, owners can take their dogs to the park to have a good time, however play areas with swings and slides are not for dogs.
So when one man shared that he took his three-year-old son to the play area and there was a “dog owner with a 10-15 pound dog” there, letting the dog “use all the equipment”, he was a little miffed and challenged him about it.
But when he informed the man he must move from the play area, the pooch owner got “protective” and called the man an “a**hole.”
The father required to Reddit to compose: “I take my three-year-old kid to the play area a couple of times a week. He enjoys the swings and the slides. Today there was a dog owner with a 10-15 pound dog at the play area. Never seen this person prior to. He was letting him use all the equipment. I do not believe he had a kid with him.
“There were a couple of kids utilizing the equipment including my kid. Some of the kids were having fun with the dog. My kid is frightened of dogs, we do not have one and he isn’t utilized to being around them. It’s simply not something he is utilized to. He attempted to go play however anytime it would get near to him, he was running back to me.”
So the father chose to do what he believed was best for his kid and step in, however the man with the dog wasn’t finest happy about being challenged.
He continued: “I asked the owner to keep his dog far from the play area. He instantly gets defensive. He says no, you are the just one with a problem, and my dog is worthy of to have a good time too.
“I react by stating play areas aren’t for dogs, you should not be here. He says to leave me alone which I’m an a**hole. His dog is still running around and even approached my kid wanting to play. Of course, my kid runs back. We pack up to too soon leave. We began arguing once again and words were exchanged. Am I wrong here?”
In another remark, he clarified that the dog wasn’t on a lead, which stimulated issues from other Redditors.
One composed: “If he does not have a kid, it’s a play ground, not a dog park. He appears like an a**hole.”
Another fumed: “Taking a dog (without a leash no less) to a kid’s park is asking for problem, and even if your dog is extremely calm and good, it’s unforgivably disrespectful not to think about that some kids hesitate of dogs.”
