A Norwich female who supposedly left into the woods following a crash in Lisbon Sunday was unable to avert being discovered for long: Connecticut State Police dog Zedo was on the job and discovered her quick, authorities said.
The event unfolded prior to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 28 when cannon fodders designated to Troop E in Montville reacted to the location of 114 River Road in Lisbon, after getting a report of a two-car automobile crash, state authorities said.
Witnesses informed the cannon fodders that a person of the included drivers had actually run away into the neighboring wood line prior to cannon fodders coming to the scene, state authorities said. Then, the dog track was “immediately initiated” and authorities dog Zedo “quickly located the evading operator hiding in the woods, where she was taken into custody,” state authorities said.
Further, the implicated operator, determined as Lauren Donohue, 43, of Norwich, supposedly “made verbal threats to kill the investigating troopers and their families,” state authorities said.
State authorities said the cannon fodders likewise saw that Donohue appeared “unsteady on her feet and that the odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from her person, indicating possible impairment.”
Donohue was required to Troop E, where she stayed “uncooperative during arrest processing” and due to her “uncooperative and aggressive conduct,” the cannon fodders were unable to administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests or other drug/alcohol tests, authorities said.
Donohue is charged with averting duty, prohibited operation of an automobile under the impact, failure to drive right, 2 counts of hindering an officer/resisting and 4 counts of second-degree threatening, authorities said.
She was being kept in lieu of $10,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday at Norwich Superior Court.
