A dog-on-dog attack triggered a 911 call and a continuous Animal Care and Control examination that began Sunday early morning in Valencia, according to witnesses and authorities.

Sophia K., a citizen of the Portofino apartment building, said she was taking Bozzy, her 5-year-old toy Aussie, for his early morning constitutional when she identified a pit bull, which isn’t enabled under the guidelines of her complex, about 75 feet away.

The owner of the pit bull was unable to keep his dog on the leash and it pursued Bozzy so quickly that Sophia, who decreased to share her surname since she was worried about being determined through her deal with social networks, said she didn’t have time to respond.

“It was horrendous. I screamed, literally bloody murder,” she said in a phone interview Tuesday, her voice still sounding hoarse from the occurrence. She explained the gruesome scene that followed as “unimaginable, incomprehensible” and distressing.

Witnesses’ accounts suggested that 15 to 20 individuals started to collect and witness the scene, that included Sophia shouting anxiously while she and numerous next-door neighbors worked to separate the animals. Sophia says she had the ability to call her partner, who likewise attempted unsuccessfully to pull the dogs apart.

“So, what happened was, a couple of other neighbors were assisting, like kicking the pit bull, trying to help, nothing was working. And the neighbor, I don’t know who he who he is or his name — I actually want to thank him because if it weren’t for him my dog probably wouldn’t be alive — asked if he should stab the dog,” she said, which was eventually how they were separated.

Personnel with the Los Angeles County Fire Department reacted to a report of a medical emergency situation around 8:57 a.m., at the 24400 block of the Valencia Boulevard in the Portofino Apartments, a complex a couple of blocks west of City Hall, according to Kaitlyn Aldana, spokesperson for the Fire Department.

The department’s call log suggests that a person client was taken through an ambulance for medical treatment at 9:42 a.m., and another was anticipated to be taken minutes later on.

Sophia said, eventually, her dog and the next-door neighbor’s dog wound up as clients at the exact same animal health center on Soledad Canyon Road, as it was the only one open at the time.

Now the report submitted by Sophia K. becomes part of a “fact-finding” effort by Animal Care, according to Leah Cohen, a spokesperson for the company, who said she couldn’t discuss the situations of the company’s examination at this time.

Cohen verified that no individuals were bitten or required to the emergency clinic as an outcome of the occurrence. “We have not impounded/do not have either dog in our custody at this moment,” Cohen composed in an email.

While not talking to Sunday’s occurrence, Cohen likewise verified Animal Care has treatments in location for if “the threat of potentially dangerous and vicious dogs threatens the safety and welfare of the citizens of the county,” according to a description of the company’s Critical Case Processing Unit.

“The CCP thoroughly investigates reported dog bites and attacks,” according to an email from Cohen, describing the company’s basic policy governing such events. “The investigating officer may then prepare a petition for review by an administrative hearing officer. The hearing officer may then impose a series of restrictions and conditions on the continued ownership of offending dogs.”

Terms from a recent Portofino lease show that all animals should be leashed and under control at all times, which “American pit bull terriers, American bullies, American Staffordshire terriers, Staffordshire bull terriers, and any dogs that are cross breeds of or are related to such breeds are not permitted,” according to details shown The Signal.

The Signal did not have a method to call the owner of the pit bull since the publication of this story. An agent for Portofino did not right away react to an ask for remark Tuesday.

Sophia said she would like justice for her dogs, for the guidelines for the complex to be implemented, and help from the pit bull’s owner with the countless dollars in veterinary costs she and her fiancé now need to pay as an outcome of the emergency situation surgical treatment Bozzy required.

Ultimately, it appears like Bozzy will make it through, she said, although he presently can’t base on among his legs. The status of the pit bull that was dealt with was not right away available. An agent from the animal health center was not right away available.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station authorities received the 911 call relating to the occurrence, according to Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the station. However, due to the nature of the call, the matter was described Animal Care, she said.
