Warning: SPOILERS for the Star Trek: Picard episode “Surrender” are ahead!
Like Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd, Brent Spiner has actually appeared in every season of Star Trek: Picardhowever entering into Season 3, it was uncertain which character he would be playing. Then in October 2022, it was revealed he’d be repeating Lore, Data’s wicked twin (who was initially going to be way various), today we understand it’s a bit more complex than that. Spiner is really playing a golem android consisting of the characters of both Lore and Data, and this latest episode, “Surrender,” included a defend supremacy over the body in between the 2 characters. A huge part of this dispute included keepsakes from Data’s The Next Generation days being flaunted, along with his animal cat Spot, and Spiner explained why dealing with a cat was easier this time around compared to on the Star Trek series that ranged from 1987 to 1994.
